Hi there!  I’m Linda Connell.  I offer professional and experienced counselling in Amberley, near Arundel, West Sussex. This is my counselling website.

About my Counselling Service in Amberley.

Counselling enables people to explore difficulties that may be preventing them from moving forward in their lives, whether the concern is with issues in the present or something that relates to the past.

I work as a therapist, counselling both individual clients and couples seeking help with their relationships.  With over ten years experience, I have practised in a variety of settings, helping clients, ranging in age from eighteen to over eighty, work through a wide range of personal difficulties and concerns.

I have a particular interest in working with parents on parenting skills, expectant and new parents, and pre-conception counselling.

My Counselling Qualifications.

I am a qualified counsellor, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and a Post-Qualification Diploma in Counselling Couples.

I work both psychodynamically and systemically:

The psychodynamic approach recognises that many of our earliest experiences affect us in our present lives and relationships.

The systemic approach seeks to address people in relationship to others, how they interact and the dynamics of the relationship.

As a member of BACP, I practise within its Code of Ethics, which means I receive regular supervision.

My Areas of Expertise.

I have had five years experience running parenting skills support groups in association with The Parent Network. I have also worked for fourteen years in association with PIPPIN (Parents in Partnership – Parent Infant Network) as a practitioner, supporting and educating men and women in the transition to parenthood with parent-infant relationships, and as a trainer of professionals who work with expectant and new parents.

Pre-conception Counselling.

I have a particular interest in supporting couples, before a baby is conceived, fostered, or adopted, to discuss the questions and issues each partner considers about becoming a parent.

My Fees.

For clients who come to meet me in my Amberly location, I charge a standard hourly fee on each session: £35 an hour to individuals and £45 an hour to couples, with some concessionary places available in certain circumstances. Payments can be made in cash or by cheque on the day of consultation. I also see clients by arrangement in central Chichester. £45 an hour to individuals and £55 an hour to couples.
